Do you have a kegerator? Me too! Sick of going to it and lifting the keg up to see how much beer is left? Me too! So, what do you do? Well, if you have an Arduino Uno or the like and some electronic components, you make a scale that will tell you how much beer is left! That is what I've done and I'm going to show you what I used and how I did it.
I am not an engineer!!! I do have an associates degree from ITT-Tech in CEET (Computer and Electronic Engineering Technology), but that's it for formal higher education. Why do I tell you this? This project is not perfect. I did it in my spare time because I was sick of lifting the keg. My hope and dream is that all of the people who read this will have some ideas on how to improve the electronics and its accuracy or to simplify the design, or to improve or make additions to the software.
So, what I'm saying is not to get upset with me if you see something that is wrong. Let me know. Let's fix it. I would love for beer drinkers around the world to be able to put this in their own kegerator to avoid those nasty pulled back muscles and wasted time and beer because they didn't have an accurate beer level reading.
